I've been hoarding a stack of baby food jars and
considering my kids are teenagers it seems
I really like to hoard stuff .
In one of the bargain shops the other day I found
battery operated tea lights .
This was very exciting for me because I hate
real candles with a passion .
I can't stand the waxy smell and instead
of relaxing with candles they make me tense waiting
for them to burn my house down .
Anyway blah blah blah I decided to finally
use some of the baby food jars .
I just used some coloured string wrapped around ,
turned on the little lights and popped them in the jars.
I wish you could see these in the dark they look so pretty .
You'll have to take my word for it as the photos don't
do them justice , they are so beautiful
all twinkling away and
safe too.

What a great idea. It was definitely worth holding on to those baby food jars all those years!
I can understand the attraction of the proportions of a baby jar. Meanwhile I'm jaw-on-floor impressed you hung on to them for THAT long. Geez, imagine if you'd thrown 'em out!
very pretty!
Aren't you clever....love it!
I've never used rubber bands, it's usually crepe paper or cellophane clear glued to the outside to give a stained glass effect. I'll have to try this.
Cheers,
Robyn
So pretty, Clare - I bet they do look gorgeous twinkling in the dark.
Very pretty - I need some of those tea-lights - MrVV is paranoid I'll burn the house down!
LOVE the idea of coloured string Clare.
You kept baby food jars for how long? Are you kidding? You should get some sort of hoarders award!
What a good idea and you are not talking at your self i read it from the netherlands . Excuse mine poor english greating carina
Battery operated candles? Excellent idea. I have a similar illness when it comes to those mini jam jars that you sometimes get in hotels. After eating the jam they have to end up in my handbag!
xx
Such a simple idea but oh so effective, just love it!
I'll have to keep an eye out for those tea lights, haven't seen them before, they look awesome!
See Clare - you just knew those jars would come in useful one day didn't you?!!! I am an avid hoarder as well... but we won't go in to that! *giggle*
