a bit of housekeeping

I've been a bit preoccupied lately
with stuff happening around here.

Most importantly the time has come when I
get to see my son graduate from The Royal Australian Navy.

To say I am excited to see him after three months
is a huge understatement.

We will be able to spend the weekend with him
before he goes back for more training and then
he will be sent to another base and hopefully
we will see him again at Christmas.

On the crafty side Monday the 1st of September
will be the day you will get to see the wonderful
creations that have been made for

I can't wait to see what everyone has done!

Please join us on Monday for the big reveals.

when is a craft blogger not really a craft blogger?

Well I think it may be when a certain so called blogger
firstly loses the camera cable and then loses her camera!

So yes I am still crafting away but unless you
find me on instagram where I use my phone camera
you probably wouldn't believe me.

Back to the search.

creative challenge update

Hello there, long time no see!

I thought I'd pop in and give a little update on the Creative Challenge.

We had 42 crafty people sign up and take on the challenge.
Each were sent an email with a picture and a colour.
Using these as inspiration they are creating something unique.
Some will be using paint, some will be sewing and
some will be gluing.
It is totally up to the individual.
There are no rules, no prizes and no wrong ways to do it.

It is just for fun!

The challenge finishes at the end of the month and
on the 1st of September I will add a linky thing here
and hopefully all the challengers will link here
to their blog posts showing you what they have done.
I'm really thrilled that so many joined in!

Stay tuned I think we are going to see some fabulous creations!
If there is enough interest there may be another challenge soon.

Would you be interested next time ?

mashed potato muffins

I always make too much mashed potato.
It then usually sits in the fridge for a few days
until it has developed a nice, crunchy top
and then the dogs get it.
I'm lucky that at least the dogs get to eat the scraps
because I really, really hate seeing food go to waste.

Anyway I had left over mashed potato again so
I thought I'd have a bit of a play with it.

To the bowl I added a bit of flour and egg some dried onion
some grated cheese and a big dollop of sour cream.

I spooned it all into greased muffin tins and baked these
for about 20 minutes.

My oven is crap  not very good at browning stuff
so yours may come out browner than this.
Nevertheless mine were still crunchy on the outside
and soft and delicious on the inside.

I don't think they will make it to the tea table tonight.
Well I had to test them didn't I?
