hello stranger

I've been a little quiet lately as a corner of The Craftroom

was soaked in the recent rains .

It was a great opportunity to have a big cleanup.

Lots of stuff was ruined and has been thrown out .

My studio was originally built for

teaching decorative painting

and before classes my machine and sewing supplies

had to be stashed away .

Now the Craftroom is just for me I'm finally

setting it up just the way I want it .

As I am running Clare's Craftroom from here

I want it to be functional but comfortable .

There is still lots to do sorting out as

well as running my business but

I'm getting there .

I can't wait to show you when it's finished .

Just thought I'd let you know in case you

thought I'd become blogless !

The last thing I need is more wool .

I found this pretty colour at the $2 shop .

But then I remembered I don't need any more wool .

But then I remembered how much I like to

sit at the end of the day and just do rows

of crochet and not having to think about it .

And then I remembered winter is coming and

this would keep me warm as I made it .

But I don't need anymore wool .

But what if the name on the label

was just as pretty as the wool itself ?

Sold !

I really must have needed more wool .

off with the fairies

I'm often off with the fairies and the last few weeks

the poor fairies must be thinking they'll

never get rid of me !

I've been spending way too much time

on facebook and having a lot of fun

but I've also been working very hard lately too .

My new design for Sew It Together has

been finished , tested and printed .

I'm very close to finishing the pattern for a new bag

and there is a particular softie that I can't wait

to get started on .

Getting settled into a routine working from

home has had it's challenges but I'm really loving it .

Once I'm more organised I will be able

to do a bit more blogging and visiting as I have missed it .

In case you are wondering about the picture ,

this was a drawing my daughter did for me

when she was very small and

it was just crying out to be stitched .

The things poking out from the side of

her head are actually wings !

I hope to see you tomorrow for My Creative Space

I think there will be more fairies involved .

If I had big lips like this ...

I'd need a really big lipstick !

I like old keys , the new , sleek ones have nothing on these.

As The Craftroom has been flooded a few times recently

I thought it might be wise to get a few things off

the floor and hanging out of harms way .

I strung a heap of keys to a hoop and it is

now tinkling from the ceiling .

Do you have any idea how hard it was trying

to take a decent photo !

You'll just have to take my word for it that

it really is beautiful .

PS . I had a few enquiries about the white frames

in my last post . They aren't even wood they are

a cheap plasticy kind that I bought from

one of those $2 shops .

doily makeover

I picked out the doilies that were stained .

I cut them .

I framed them .

I added a little zing with some vintage buttons

bought from The Button Bower  ,

no relation to me I promise .

I will eventually have these displayed in The Craftroom .

It's nice to give some old doilies new life .
