round and round we go

 

I found a big bag of these at my local Vinnies.

 

They were too good to leave behind.

 

So I used some scrap wool to crochet around them.

 

Now I have a bit of a head start on Christmas decorations.

I picked up this great but ratty stool at a garage sale.

 

When I posted a photo of it on instagram

the main response was "my nan had one of those"!

 

 I never met my nan but

 

 

I like to imagine she was a fun and funky nan

 

so I hope she'd like what I've done to the stool.

let there be light ........or maybe not

 

One of my favourite Vinnie's had this light fitting in their shop.

It sat there winking at me every time I went in there .

Unfortunately I don't have a light that this will fit on.

 

It continued to taunt me for weeks until I brought it home.

 

I turned it upside and poured a few buttons in.

 

I kept pouring....

 

I poured some more....

 

lucky I have so many buttons .

Time has gotten away again .

I was going to have the tutorial ready for my little craft bag

but I spent the day yesterday going around to garage sales

which is where I found this gorgeous deer .

 

The older man who was selling it told me many times

it was a very special deer because it was Eyetalian.

Yes he really said Eyetalian with great emphasis on the Eyetalian.

I was very close to telling him I  don't really care where

it came from as long as it was going home with me .

 

Anyway with me being so cosmopolitan and continental

and buying exotic items from garage sales I didn't get your tutorial done.

I will get my act together this week .

 

Also this week I will be having the giveaway for the Cosmo threads

and a few other bits and pieces .

You'll have to excuse me now I'm off to find a spot for my Eyetalian deer .

I popped into a nearby Vinnies store today

as always on the lookout for embroidered doilies .

One of the ladies who knows me thought I might

be interested in some hankies .

No one wants to buy old hankies love

we just usually throw them out .

I didn't really know how to take this ,

does the rare person who does buy old hankies

have a certain look or was it just the

way my eyes lit up when I saw these beauties .

Either way I think she felt justified that she

had labeled me an old hankie buyer

as I giggled and skipped out the door !

No I have no immediate plans for these but

I can't really be expected to think rationally

after all I'm only an old hankie buyer !
