these are a few of my favourite pins ~ overlocker/serger tips

I have an overlocker in fact I have two.
One I have had for years but haven't used in ages
and the other was a gift that is still in the box.

Part of my problem is finding time to set
myself up to use them.

The other part is fear and dread of threading
and actually using my overlocker.

I'm psyching myself up and checking out some
great posts on using my overlocker.

I'm not alone here am I?
I'm not the only one who keeps putting
off learning overlocker secrets?

Tell me I'm not alone.

Anyway I hope I'm not the only sook and
some of these posts help you too.

these are a few of my favourite pins ~ hearts

I have lots of visitors here from countries that celebrate
Valentine's Day way more than here in Australia
and although I don't celebrate it at all (as I always make
a donation to The Heart Foundation instead)
I do like a good heart craft.

Here are just a few I have found on pinterest this week.

Left ~ Letters on canvas from Woontrendz.
This one is in Dutch but simple to understand.

Top right ~ Baby food jar Valentine's from So Festive.

Bottom right ~ No Sew Banner from Thoughts From Alice.

Or perhaps you'd like to make some fabric hanging hearts
you can find my tutorial here.

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?

no 1 ~ a treat for your sewing space

As I told you the other day I am doing the
2015 Bucket Sewing List with Whipstitch and no 1 is ~
A treat for your sewing space.
I'm still umming and aahing as I do about what to make and although there are no rules about this list being done in order I thought I'd have a look around for a treat for my sewing space.

Honestly the biggest treat my sewing space could have would be me actually sewing in it or at least tidying it up but that's probably not going to happen anytime soon so when I can get there I'll be ready to start ticking off that darned list.

I'm thinking a  new pincushion would be nice,

Or I may even whip up another sewing machine apron
and do a tutorial for you while I'm at it.
My Sewing Machine Apron was published
in Australian Handmade many years ago so you
may have missed it.

Or I may even make myself a new ironing board cover...

Have you been able to get near your sewing lately?
Are you doing the 2015 Bucket Sewing List?
Would you like the tutorial for the Sewing Machine Apron?

So many questions, so many decisions.
Just sew!

I'll put them into categories for you and add the direct link to the source.

tick tock

I have a small obsession with clocks.

I have a whole pinterest board dedicated to clocks.

I have at least 3 clocks in every room of the house .

My husband tolerates my obsession and even turned
up with this daggy creation the other day assuring me
that I could fix it up.

I wasted no time turning it into a pretty nice ticker.

The paint I used was White Knight ~ Squirts ~ Quick Dry
Gloss Enamel ~ Mint.

just one more pin

I've been spending way too much time on pinterest.

I have built beautiful homes with gorgeous furniture,
crocheted a rainbow or two,
collected the most beautiful selection of vintage things.
Created a recipe file that I'll never get through,
looked at things nostalgically
and then of course there is the craft .

So much craft I don't know where to begin .

This is a quick little project that I found
and the original tutorial can be found here.
For the life of me I couldn't link to this blog
but it is called Craft and Creativity.

Craft and reading wins me every time.

Do you read ?
What sort of books do you like ?

If I'm not crafting or reading you'll probably
find me dreaming away at Pinterest.
