Hi again !

I have a very busy week this week so I thought

I would announce the giveaway now before

I met a lovely old dear the other day .

She told me she had seen my Catchit bag in a

magazine and how much she loved it .

If fact she loved it so much she wanted 3,

one for each of her great-granddaughters.

I tried to politely explain I only do the

patterns I don't take orders for the bags themselves.

Never mind about what patterns she said

 I'd like one in greens,

and one in pinks ,

and do you have one in bluey greens

for the oldest one?

But , but I only sell the patterns !

I delivered her new Catchits on the weekend

and the old dear told me I was such a good girl

she would tell her friends !

Cooking up a .......

Well of course I can't show you all of what I'm making as

this is for a swap but I'm pretty sure my partner doesn't read my blog .

It's just that there is not a lot I can show you at the moment as it is all TOP SECRET stuff !

 I have some big things

in the works and I wouldn't like to spoil your surprise !

Truthfully I'll be the one surprised if I get it all done .

What was I thinking !

In my last post I asked for opinions on Etsy and Madeit as I had been thinking of venturing into these to sell my patterns , crazy woman !
This has been the first chance I've had since then to do a short post so what chance to I have of maintaining a store let alone stocking it .
I'm really not a slacker it's just that my juggling skills really aren't that good at the moment .
Your comments were appreciated as they came from both buyers and sellers and were so well thought out that
I will add a link to my sidebar so if anyone else is interested they can find your comments easily .
Things have been flat out as usual here this week , yes more juggling , but I did manage to finish another Catchit , just !
The pattern is also nearly finished and as I promised there are two winners ,Steph and Narelle as it so happens both these girls are Aussies and I thought it might be nice if someone from overseas won one as well so I went through and chose another one for Allie.
If you ladies would please email me with your addresses I will post your patterns off to you shortly .
As soon as the patterns are ready I will also be putting them in my shop and in my ebay shop.

I've finished something and a giveaway !

Of course me being me has to wait till the last day of the month to finally post a finish !
I gave you a glimpse of this last week but at the moment the days have all been running together so it may have been last year .
I did design this bag a while ago for a swap I was in and since then I've made heaps of them as gifts and I have four around my home .
Very useful bags these are they are called Catchits as they are just pretty and frilly and you hang them on the end of the bed , on the bathroom or wardrobe handle to , you know .....catch stuff ! They are for all those little bits and pieces that I can't be bothered putting away really don't go anywhere .
I should be finished writing the pattern this year this week so if you need a Catchit at your house and who doesn't , just leave a comment .

Show and Tell

It's always great to hear that people have enjoyed making my designs but I get a real thrill when they send me photos as I love to see their own fabric choices . Khris made her version of Frances Frog in no time.

Jules had been looking to make a machine apron when she came across my pattern .

Lisa also sent me her gorgeous version of the machine apron .

The machine apron pattern was published in Handmade v27 no 5 .

The pattern for Frances Frog is available from my shop or my ebay store or email me .

Missing!

Here's the story - I received a phone call from the editor of one the craft magazines . "I would really like to publish your doll Daisy in a future edition , is that possible ?" Using my professional , efficient voice I reply" yes I will get everything together and get it off to you today" As I haven't done any work for this magazine before I really wanted to make a good impression so off I went to prepare my parcel .

Three hours later and a totally trashed studio, no Daisy!

She has vanished ! Should I call Missing Persons or the police ?

No , all I could do was call the editor and explain the truth . Don't worry I thought of all the stories in the world , fire , flood , the dog ate her but in the end with a lot of apologies the truth was told . The big shot designer (hah) had stuffed up and lost a project .Thank goodness the editor could see the funny side and has accepted another project from me .Very , very embarrassing!

No you're not seeing double!

Yes it's got brown bits on it !

I'd been fiddling around making fabric boxes to display my patterns in . I finished this one and showed it to my family , this is the reaction I got - "It's got brown on it Mum " and "Didn't you have your glasses on Mum , you used brown " My family knows well my dislike of brown , I wouldn't wear a brown piece of clothing if it was the last item on earth so it was a bit of a surprise to see me sewing something with the dreaded brown in it .

They could of at least said "Great work Mum even though you used brown "
