I first blathered on about attempting string piecing in January 2010.

Not to be put off I blathered again that month about the same thing .

Being very persistent I bored you again here . 

 

 

Here we are in May 2013 and I am putting the blocks together .

No square is square.

No block is the same size.

I am still not a quilter .

 

 

still nothing going right

I flattened some of my old spoons the other day

as I wanted to stamp them to use

as garden markers .

So I wrote out the herbs that I wanted printed

and got started .

I tried stamping basil and got this .

I tried again .

and again ...

I hate basil anyway .

My friend Jodie from Ric Rac first alerted

me to a condition known as E.I.T.T.T.S.

Every thing I touch turns to shit .

Personally I don't believe she has really ever suffered

from this as she is one of

 the most talented crafters I know .

Anyway I seem to be suffering from

this condition in a big way .

Some of the things I have attempted lately

I can't even laugh at them yet but I know I will soon .

So instead of showing you still painful recent disasters

I thought I'd relive an old one .

Obviously this one is quite old as it has been a

while since my house has had a rustic , country theme.

Quite a while back I was a decorative painting teacher

and painted everything that would stay still and

this was how it was for my old cupboard here .

I whipped the doors off and took it to my Craftroom

to paint it with chooks and wire .

At the time I was very pleased with it and wanted

the cupboard completed as a surprise for the family .

It was all going to plan until I realised I'd

painted the design upside down on the doors

so now the doors don't shut properly and it

is forever flopping open .

It has been known by my lovely family

as Mums' Failed Cupboard .

I had plans girls, my word I did !

Prepare the first post of Tuesday Treasures on Monday .

No internet .

Scratch that plan , just get the kids off to school in the morning and then prepare post .

One spewy kid at home .

One husband who works outside decided paint wouldn't dry in -3 degrees , wimp !

Do post , add linky .

Internet dropping out every time I almost got the linky .

Finally get linky , cannot get it to go under post .

Finally get post done while taking four phonecalls and dealing with spewy kid .

Go and get tyres for my car for rego (in the middle of doing a post)

Sorry no tyres today lady .

Played around with the dreaded yellow fabric .

The yellow fabric is what I use when I am trying out a new softie.

Mysterious , unrecognisable lumps have often made their way into my home

where I squint at the lumps and interrogate everyone asking what they think of it .

 It gets so bad family members run when they see

the dreaded yellow fabric approaching .

The yellow fabric would just not play nicely

even after I said secret , special words to it !

Really should have just left the yellow fabric alone .

It was just one of those days .

Let's just hope today is free of spew , wimps and yellow lumps !

Just a tip .

This iron cleaner really does work !

But maybe I should have used it before I started ironing my new fabric !

Safety Tips for Crafters

Do not turn stove on to boil water for cooking rice and then go and sneak a bit of stitching in .

Do not move pretty element covers and turn stove on and then go and sneak a bit of stitching in .

Do not ignore children asking what are you cooking mum ?

Do not ignore smoke billowing from your stove even if you are only boiling water to cook rice .

I've learnt my lesson .
