I was reading one of my favourite blogs the other day
and Tania had the best tutorial for little Easter chicks .
I haven't done a lot of work with felt
so I thought I'd have a go .
How easy this was going to be , no seam allowances
no heming , no machine sewing .
It was going to be so cruisy sitting by
the fire stitching my little heart out .
I got a little excited and had visions of myself buying bolts
of felt because this was going to be great fun .
I started on a little design of my own and then
remembered this was meant to be for fun not work
and used a pattern from this cute book .
Well that was when it stopped being fun .
I didn't like the fluffy bits that went in my eyes .
I didn't like the untidiness of it all .
I didn't like not having the structure that I'm used to .
I sort of liked the end result and will probably
have another go at felt animals .
I know lots of others love to work with felt and make
fantastic things , just not me .
I did ask the bunny do a little jig for me like the
chicks did over at Myrtle and Eunices
you really need to see these talented little chicks
they really know how to dance !
This was the response I got got from my bunny
when I just asked for a tiny , weeny dance .
Hmmmph how ungrateful !

I quite like working with felt and I'd give it another chance Clare. I think your bunny is very cute - even if she can't dance!!

That is too funny! I have no patience for that kind of stuff. But your little ungrateful bunny looks so cute!

Not a felt fan here either. I too had visions of making lot's of felty things, but after a couple of pincushions I'd done my dash. Your bunny is totally adorable.
I've only ever used felt a few times on softies but have found it okay to work with.
Your little bunny is super cute!!
Very cute! Dont give up, it all depends on the quality of the felt you use too, some are fluffy some are tight and no fluff at all.
I have seen a great tutorial for non felt chicks over at Birdsparty.com its virtually the same only with fabric :)

I love your little bunny, I think it's adorable... a little mean on the dancing thing, but still adorable. Don't give up Clare xx
Your little bunny is adorable.
I love your little felt softie, Clare!! Adorable!
Oh, Possum. Oh, dear. Are you ok? Cos that felty bunny creation looks pretty damned lovely, even if dancing isn't her gig.
Have you tried the 100% wool business? More difficult to get hold of, I agree, but it doesn't 'squeak', or fluff about, or get in your eyes or anything else uncooperative.
Go and have a nice calming cup of tea. x
I'm not very good at any form of softie, my felt association is limited to flat felt shapes. Your little bunny is so sweet, sorry she wasn't feeling as sweet as she looked;)
Oh sweetie - that little bun is too darling - and seems rather shy, lol!
Hopefully he will get his jive on soon and so will you working with felt. I love working with felt but find it very hard to get good felt here in NZ. Can't even get it from the wholesalers to sell.
I am one of those who gets on well with felt but I can find it tricky to cut it straight on some days. I think you little chap is very cute!
I like working with felt and your post has reminded me I haven't in a long time. Poor wee bunny ... being asked to dance when so new to the world! I love the cotton tail:)
It is indeed a great piece of craft work to see. I'm certain that you love to work in an organized way and hence your work looks to be quite attractive.
how cute you are very clever
