doily makeover

I picked out the doilies that were stained .

I cut them .

I framed them .

I added a little zing with some vintage buttons

bought from The Button Bower  ,

no relation to me I promise .

I will eventually have these displayed in The Craftroom .

It's nice to give some old doilies new life .

It's all about doilies here today .

I found a few pretty ones the other day

and just left them in a bag in The Craftroom.

With all the rain on the weekend my floor was flooded .

Some of the doilies got wet but not ruined .

I thought what a shame it was that I rescued the doilies

from the opshop and then allowed

 them to be neglected again .

Some of them are so beautiful and so much work

has gone into them I think they deserve a little better .

(Yes we are still talking about little bits of fabric here .)

So I will be in my creative space appreciating

my doilies and making new treasures from them .

Any suggestions ?

I love hearts !

I do love hearts !

With Valentines Day very soon there are

hearts everywhere I look .

My husband and I have never exchanged Valentines gifts.

Not only because he's not the romantic kind

but that it is not an occasion celebrated much

in Australia despite what the card and chocolate

companies would have you believe .

As someone who has lost both parents to heart disease

I decided that the money that I could spend

on a gift would be better donated somewhere worthwhile .

What better place than The Heart Foundation .

This really makes my heart feel good .

Rainy Days Sheet Fabric Winners !

Just to prove to myself I could cut up this cute fabric

I made a cushion cover with tiny pom pom trim

for my lounge and my teenagers are horrified

that we have little kid  stuff in our loungeroom !

I told them to suck it up .

If the ClipCafe and Make Dough and Mend

could please send me their details I will send them

some of this fabric and they can use it to

make young children happy or

annoy some more teenagers ,

lots of fun either way !

Doesn't this print just make you smile !

I found these in my local Vinnies the other day ,

two single bed sheets in beautiful condition .

To be really very honest with you I have enough

trouble cutting up one sheet let alone two so

I thought I'd better give some away to

someone who can really use them .

This will be the first time there is going to be

a catch to one of my giveaways , are you ready?

Pretty , vintage hankies are being put together

for a very light blanket .

I can't call it a quilt because I'm not a quilter .

I think I'd like to be though .
