Recycling twice .
I know some of you may have seen this before
but it is still a treasure .
My box began as this daggy , dull piece .
A coat of white paint really freshened it up .
I then lined the lid inside and fitted my
embroidery cottons in.
Why is it a treasure ?
Because my husband bought the box for me
from a garage sale many years ago
and because every time I'm looking for
threads I smile at my pretty new box .

Oh i love that, you can see all your threads at once...and you are not going to tip that beautiful box upside down by accident...love this recycled treasure and what a fabulous husband.

Clare that is such a clever idea. I love it. I have a huge box like that which was my mother in laws which my father in law made to hold her cotton reels. You have just given me a great idea. Thanks

Hi Clare, I do remember when you showed that great idea for the old cutlery box. I had intended to follow your lead, but discovered that my 3 plastic containers of threads wouldn't fit. will have to think of "plan B"- maybe use it for lace and ribbons, etc. yours does look lovely though and a very clever idea! :-)

Treasures are always valuable to us and we always love to share them with all. This box is pretty valuable to you not because of its price but the emotions and love hidden in this gifted box. Nice to see this again.

Really Lovely! I saw one of these cutlery boxes at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago but the man wanted $25.It was pretty bumped around plus I thought way to much $$$,If i find one again I would not hesitate to paint it. Looks Fab!You are really creative!
