now I'm really off my face

Brain snap !
I gave in and signed up with facebook .
All of a sudden I feel I'm back at primary school .
Will you be my friend ?
So and so says these people are ok , you
can be friends with them too .
Not too sure if I like you ...
How about a poke !!?
I even got a message on my wall
(in the olden days we used to call that graffiti)
from one of my sisters that I declined as
a friend because I didn't realise it was her .
There goes my Christmas present .

I really don't feel facebook and I are going to be friends .

This may be the best photo I've ever seen of me .

Give it time Clare, I felt the very same way as you. But in the end I felt I was the only one without it!

Me too Clare. I feel like I'm back in the sandbox waiting for new friends to say it is okay to play. It's awful but I'm sure I'll get used to it *grin*.

aaah, facebook! It is a great tool for reconnecting with people, but a little pointless at times! My hubby is now an addict!

LOL... I totally understand. I lasted 3 weeks on Facebook and deleted myself... it caused too many dramas!! Good luck! Hugs Lisa

LOL Too Funny Clare! Yeah I'm not ready to do the F/B thing yet. Blogger is hard enough for me at the moment!

Oh I know what you mean but it is fun when you get to 'like' pages from your favourite shops etc...keeps you in the loop...I might have to go and see if I can find you..
Kiss Noises Linda ( Linda Simpson in case I do find you so you know who I am)

I don't like it...I just don't 'get' the attraction. Good luck!

My hubby is addicted, too. My children tell me that now there are 'only older people on FB'.
And I do not like the idea of recollecting: if we lost touch it means that our lives evolved and that we can do without each other...or not?

I hope we don't lose you to facebook, it takes over people's lives.

Clare I joined up because I wanted to be able to see my DD1's photos, from the UK ... but I've gotten to quite enjoy it now. I've even found some old school friends that I haven't seen for donkey's years lol!!! Hang in there :o)!!
Hugs,

Oh No Clare! Say it isnt so . You didnt go over to the dark side!

I have FB . I go there so infrequently I usually have 98,736 updates, friend requests, family tree thingys, and and goodness knows what else when I eventually return the next time. I seriously dont get the attraction, but I hope you do and have a wonderful time with it.

Hi Clare,
Oh too funny. I recently joined up but only to get on and see what my son was up to-well it backfired, he knocked me back as a friend but I had all these other people asking to be my friend.
I had to send a polite email saying I really didn't have the time or effort to join facebook.LOL
Have a great day,
Hugs,
Anna

My boys are 'face spacers' (as I call it) they love it. I find Blogging takes up enough time - let alone space facing.. Good luck.
Hope your sister forgives you!

I'm on FB but hardly use it anymore and am seriously considering deleting it because I mentioned it to one rellie-in-law and then because they're all connected via FB it is relayed to everyone else. Some of them I don't particularly like, and DH is from a big family, but if you shun one....lookout. I'll stick with blogger as none of the in-laws know about it :).

Hi Clare! Good luck with Facebook! I lasted one whole week...it was just too much for me to handle. Plus, I just don't have the time for it...my sewing and my blog takes up most of the free time I have, and honestly, some of the people that wanted to "be my friend" didn't want to be friends with me when we were in school, so I can't imagine what's changed now to make them want to "friend" me! LOL!!

But have fun with it!

XOXO,

Cyndi

I do not like facebook - to me it's like speed-blogging. I like to take my time. And all those friends!!! Half of whom I'm sure I don't know. A national talk show host here in the States has declared a national un-friend day - challenging folks to slice their friends list in half or better. LOL - I'm not on there long enough to get friends!

I don't do facebook, i created a business profile so i can post on the Handmade Market FB site but man, suddenly everyone wants to be your friend, asks you to like things, it's insanity!! I much prefer my blog, facebook seems to duplicate everything a thousand times, OMG, who has the time?? I'll be your friend if you ask, but i don't think i know how to initiate asking?? FYI my children won't be doing FB either, really, TALK to you friends at school & do homework & family stuff at home, not that hard . . . back in my day . . . love Posie

Oh I know... it is so awful... and yet at one level kind of useful to get back in contact with people.

My daughter signed me up and at first I freaked out, all of these people wanting to be my friend, but I didn't know any of them. Now I just check in every once in a while, it's really not my thing. I did have my email stolen though, that was fun.

Crowing Moon said...

hehehehe You can be my friend on fb. I'm ok and not a freaky stalker or anything hahaha
I'm sure it will become a new addiction once you get the hang of it ;)

I have deliberatly avoided facebook. I know that it could actually help my online shops to have more traffic but what i hear about it does not appeal. I have sadly lost a couple of regualr readers to Facebook so I hope you will stick around blogland. Also as teacher if a student applies to be a "friend" I have to report it, so best avoid it in the first place. I asked a friend to link to my blog but she is not sure how to do it.

Opps sorry about spelling blunders, it is gone 11pm and the old brain is going, but it is actually the awful typing at fault. Should check before pressing post.

I think this post is off the blog. A very unusual posting by you. Its really fantastic to move some long step backward into the childhood, but it is not possible now. So try to keep that child alive in you.

I signed up for facebook with the idea of connecting with old friends and lost-track-of family members. While I certainly found old school friends and a couple of family members - I do not 'do' all the other facebook stuff. I check in only occasionally and facebook emails me if someone writes on my wall or sends me an email. You can control your level of involvement and ignore everything else.
