it's beginning to look a lot like.....

....a mad womans breakfast around here .

I'm preparing magazine Christmas projects
and they asked for some projects in red and white .

I'm not really a red and white girl but I think
I could be swayed .

Does your Christmas at home have a theme ?

Are you all colour coordinated ?

Although my kids are teenagers I still put their
kindergarten crafts up and the rest of the
decorating is a little hotch potch .

I'd really be interested to hear about your
 Christmas decorating , it's not
too early to start thinking about it
and if you are anything like me
the sooner the better !

PS I will be doing lots of Christmas tutorials
here in the next few months leading up to
the big day if only to get my own act together.

Themes? Colour co-ordination? I've heard that those things exist...elsewhere...not here that's for sure. Love the red/white...bright white and clear red is a great colour combo...

Dah, I LOVE christmas decorating! I've only been out of the family home for a few years now but every year I am getting better (I think) and more creative (i hope) at decorating for the season. I make most of what we do. Last year I made big round paper and cellophane red baubles and stuck them to the wall and connected them with red yarn, then I made snowflakes out of white paper. Every wall had a feature on it!

Need to top that this year! So hoping for some great inspiration ;) No pressure haha

I've been colour co-ordinating Xmas for a lot of years now, ever since I heard of someone else doing it & thought, 'You mean I don't have to have red & green every year?' Lol I've had gold & purple, gold & silver, silver & purple, aqua & white/silver, red & white. This year will be red, white & aqua in the lounge/dining. Now I have a home with a proper foyer last year I did it traditional red & green & it looked very pretty. I love red & white!!! Looking forward to your tutorials. :-)

Our colours have always been red gold and green. We have collectede decorations etc over many years and each one has a story or a memory. My daughter has a small pink tree in ther bedroom with pink and pale blue decorations.
I like red and white. We have an off white kitchen with some red applicances, tea towels etc, it is is a favourite of mine.

I try to add something different each year but we have certain decorations that are a must, traditions that have just evolved but which are immediately spotted if they are missing from the displays no matter how old the kids are! We decorate several rooms with different colour schemes so one can be purple/silver another reds/greens. Better start thinking about this years.....

I love that our tree is a mix of kiddie made and "real" decorations.
Every year the kids pull them out and laugh and giggle as they remember all of them. For me, that's much better than a coordinated christmas.

Those are my Christmas colours. Plus a little green. Yes I have been thinking it's time to start thinking about starting Christmas stuff now.

I've only really gotten into Christmas since my husband has forced a real Christmas tree on us each year, living in Canberra, where decorations & ornaments can actually look amazing. We're into red & white, but i'm a blue girl, basically anything but gold, love Posie

I love your red and white together, so charming, YES indeed I put together little vignettes throughout our home, I do alot of decorating with all my antique quilts, red & white with a big silver bowl on top or a large vintage ornament tree with all gold, I also love blue and silver its so refreshing. Every year I change the lights on the tree to either all white or all of the colors at once. Even though my kids are older they love the feeling of all the decorations...isn't that why we do all that work??? LOL
Have a lovely Sunday

It's looking great Clare! I always have a theme each year, though the last couple have been very simple, lots of fairy light, white & silver..my favourite pieces are the kids decorations made at kinder & school though.

I have the kids' school crafts on my tree - they look forward to seeing them every year.

We don't decorate too much - just the tree and maybe a garland - and of course little Christmas quilts and a nativity.

We do family ornaments. If there is room for a theme tree there may be one, but I LOVE using the ornaments that have been gathered over time. I like your red and white ornaments.

When the real tree goes up, out come all the pre-school/kindy/school crafted decorations...glitter goes everywhere, the coconut (snow) falls off and sequins are routinely re-glued, but it wouldn't be Christmas without the memories of all those lovingly made and presented artworks!
