Right now it would make for a pretty sheet in these hot hot hot nights. We have rain & cool temperatures in Canberra now, hope the rain travels your way or have you had enough water lately?? I'll send the cooler weather, love Posie
You have inspired me to finally do something with the pile of hankies I bought at Best & Less last year. Not until this weather passes though, nothing happening in my own creative space the last few days - too, too hot. Have a good weekend. Carmel
They look great with all the little coloured orders around the edges. It would look pretty as a tablecloth...high tea anyone....with cucumber sandwiches, of course?!
Hi Clare, Have done a QUILT just like yours many years ago from my great grandmas hanky collection. It's really where I began. Pretty sure you are going to be a quilter! Whilst I sewed the hankies long ago it wasn't until we started machine quilting that I turned it into a much loved quilt. Happy stitching Chrisb.
very pretty indeed. i was able to get through to your blog, my computer was in hospital recently so fingers crossed i will be able to come back any time!

What a great idea for those beautiful hankies, I agree, looks like a quilt to me!
I like Jacqui's idea of a table cloth Clare. Or... you could put it back on the line each day just to make the yard look pretty!! LOL

Thats such a cute idea! In the midst of winter where I am so I'm storing your idea away for the summer.
I'd like to be too! Very, very cute :)
This passes as a quilt to me!!! What a great idea, I have a huge basket of my Nan's hankies.
Sewing squares of fabric together is as good as quilting to me! Love your blanket - looks so light and breezy on the line.
ooh very clever, yes it does have a patchworky look to it, with all the bits sewn together :)

very pretty!
I love the tablecloth idea. Cant you just see this with high tea spread out all over it?
You could always do a quilted tablecloth - kill two birds with one stone.
Then invite me round for high tea.
Oh that is such a clever idea!! It looks so pretty :-)

Oh and Blue...what a cutie...gorgeous...
This is so gorgeous and inspiring! I'd love to make one for the end of my bed. The patterns on those hankies are so pretty!

Such pretty hankies. Can't wait to see the end result. Thanks for sharing. Charmaine
A lovely idea. Full of childhood memories. Where do you find vintage hankies? Are they family pieces. ?
