so easily distracted

I was meant to be stripping the beds on my day off
but when I discovered one of the sheets
was looking a bit tatty
I stripped it instead.

I have visions of a lovely oval rug
and I have started a few times ~ got it wrong
and had to start again.

I think I'm getting there now.

Well I hope so.

The sheet was just ripped to make the lengths
and the many stray strands of cotton
were spread around the yard.

I then watched the birds collecting the cotton for
their nests for ages.

Told you I was easily distracted.

PS The first Creative Challenge for the year
is up on Sunday and although we only had two
challengers sign up I know these creations
will be just amazing!

Standing around watching birds collect thread for ages sounds so relaxing - I'm kind of jealous. Good luck with your rug.

A great idea Clare. I crocheted a bathroom rug from an old quilt cover a while ago and it washes like an old rag. They're so hard wearing.

I made an actual wool braided rug through a class and loved it. I had grand visions of coming home and doing the same with old sheets but then it never happened. Mostly, I can't stand all the frayed bits. With the wool, we were taught to roll them to the center for braiding but with this sheets, it gets really annoying.

BUT, seeing this, now I'm entertaining the thought again. I hadn't thought of crocheting it like you are.....
