I'm going to clean up my act !

I paid $18.00 to learn just how disorganised I am . This new magazine is full of inspirational studios that really put mine to shame . There are some really beautiful rooms to be seen and great ideas are shared by a variety of different crafters .

I'd pay more money to see "real" studios where the crafter is going a bit crazy with hair sticking out and muttering as they rummage through piles of bits looking for something .

One studio has an armchair so the crafter can snuggle up and read !! IF I had an armchair it would be covered in stuff and if it wasn't the cat probably wouldn't let me sit on it anyway!

So I am now full of a new determination to get my studio into shape .

Robyn fromhttp://daisyquilts.blogspot.com/ is also having a big cleanup maybe we can push each other along .

I've started by sorting my ribbon drawer but there I have an ulterior motive as I know the scrapbooking shop that I'll be in on Saturday is having a new ribbon stand put in , so I'm really just making room for the new ribbon I know I'll have to buy !

If you are feeling like a cleanup let Robyn or I know so we can all encourage (commiserate with)each other .
Wish me luck !

Good luck, I just got off vacation and brought home a ton of quilting items....and was putting them away, but where...it is such a mess in here.....I should be ashamed....but I would rather sew.

Hey Clare! Hmmm ... must be the time of year when we crafters all decide (for one reason or another!) to tidy out work space. Mine's still pretty good after the clean up two weeks ago - I've even put stuff away after I used it!! WOW! :0) And like you, as much as I love to see gorgeous, inspirational, beautifully decorated rooms in magazines, I want to see it in the midst of creation - perhaps so I don't feel so bad about the 'fabric explosion aftermath' look that MY sewing room gets! Tee! Hee! Hee! Will await the 'before' and 'after' photos of your sewing room! Bear Hugs! KRIS

Hi Clare!

I know the magazine, I have an earlier issue... they kind of make you drool a bit don't they? And the words "I wish" spring to mind!!!

I seem to be clearing up every few weeks and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference! Except that I usually can't find something afterwards! But I plan to post some pics of my mess, oops, I mean 'studio' (?!!) this week... so you can feel right at home... I'll even supply the "hair sticking out" shot for you! LOL...

Hugs!! Vikki x

Good luck with the clean up Clare. You'll feel creatively inspired when you get re-organised. I know I always do.... just until it gets all messy again. LOL

Nope, it's not gonna happen, not here. I can't even be SHAMED into cleaning up this chaos that I lovingly call my sewing cubby LOLOL!!! I love my mess ... I know where everything is ... and besides, I know I'll only get waylaid when I find something pretty and want to 'play' with it he he he.
Good luck with yours though ... and more power to ya!!!
Hugs,
Joy :o)

Oooh I'm jealous - but it's never gonna happen in my house - not with 3 youngsters running about too. Mind you I think if I did have somewhere tidy, I would probably be too scared to create..., plus I can't seem to find anything when it's tidy!!

Good luck on the studio clean-up! You can do it with much pizzaz!

Good luck. My work room looks like a hurricane has been through it! Even if I tidy it, it never stays that way for long because I'm a fabricaholic and I just can't resist a bargain! LOL If I put the money that I spend on fabric into the bank my bank manager would be a very happy man. xx

I have a scrappy/crafty room :o) and I am currently re-doing the whole thing. It has needed it for quite some time. I asked my guy for some help on one thing I was stumped for orgainzing and one thing led to another and there we were ripping up carpet and starting fresh! I am no where near done but you can see my progress so far. I am the hair sticking out, mumbling, trying to find something type also and so hopefully this new system will help some of that! lol Good Luck!

Good luck with cleaning your studio! I should join you, but know I'm not up to it at the moment. Will there ever be a moment?!

Good Luck! I need to have a tidy too really although I find when I have tidied I then can't find anything. Oh and having an arm chair in your studio, well I have a sofa in my "studio" which gets used as a big shelf... Kate x

Good luck with the clean up Clare! I think about cleaning up my sewing room but that's as far as it gets right now, LOL

I think it's catchy, because I'm in the middle of major organization/cleaning in my crafty space too!

I love drooling over other people's studios. I do tidy mine up on occasion but it usually ends up messy again. I NEED more room....that's my story and I'm sticking to it! ;)

Btw, thanks for dropping by my blog. I'm glad you did because it gave me the opportunity to 'find' your blog. :)

It would be lovely to have one of those perfect looking rooms...but we need to be creative....fabric expands to fill the space! As long as we are happy & productive any space is great! Love your ribbons!

Hi Clare,
I think that if a craft room is all neat and tidy either that person has only just had a big clean up or they have not done much crafting in a while, part of the fun of crafting is the mess that we make while we are in the zone. Good luck with the clean up, but don't feel too bad about the creative mess.
Cheers Linda

I seem to be constantly cleaning up my room, but it always seem to be in some form of chaos, Its not too bad at the mo, but I do have a basket of scraps to sort into strip size.

Jossie said...

Good luck Clare! I'm afraid I won't join you. My sewing room is a mess and problably will be forever. After cleaning up I can't find anything and as long as it is a chaos I find everything with eyes closed. So why bother? I wonder if those nice rooms in the mags belong to real crafters? Imagine all the time wasted clearing you could have created something SPECIAL!

I wish I had a studio just to junk up...............lol I have a tiny cupboard that I open carefully as its contents tend to attack me.......and a long dinning table that no one really remembers sitting at???? hehehe

LOL I had to giggle Clare - I had a PJ day in my little studio the other day - Things get lost in there never to be seen again. I will keep an eye out for the mag

hope your cleaning up goes well Clare I have just more or less organised my new space and it has stuffed dumped in it already!! it's ridiculous. Maybe we should accept that mess is part of the creative process?????

I have that magazine too and I just love it! It is inspiring but how many of us can actually have a separate loft building for our creative spaces? I totally understand your affinity for ribbon as well. I just can't seem to stop buying it even though I have no idea what I'll do with all of it.

I have T-Mobile. I'm getting my paycheck next week so I wanna buy an iphone, since the locked ones are cheaper on ebay than the unlocked ones, I wanted to buy a locked iphone on ebay for like 200 dollars. And I have a friend, whose sister knows how to unlock iphones and has done it in the past. So if I bought the locked iphone got my friends sister to unlock it, put my t-mobile sim card in, will it work?
