I love to crochet .
I can't read a pattern and I am all self taught .
I don't know the names of the stitches.
All I can do is look carefully at someones work
and try and copy it .
Although I have been crocheting since I was a small grub
I haven't gotten far past the very basics.
But I don't mind as I don't need to put my glasses on to crochet
and I can almost just lie down and do it .
I don't need to think about it much at all
especially when I'm doing repetitive stitching like in my new granny ripple .
I've even joined in with a group of girls in a ripplealong .
It's great watching everyones progress .
You're welcome to watch us too just pop over here .
I was like this too, I could do those basic stitches but not read a pattern for the life of me! I'm starting to be able to now :)A granny ripple is on my 'one day' project list. I am rippling along with the same group :)
ReplyDeleteI surely do like your granny ripple!
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of a granny ripple till I read your blog. The colours you've used are fabulous!
Very pretty ripple afghan. I can read a pattern but I always modify it and make changes to make it look the way I want it to.
ReplyDeleteI love the granny ripple blankets and your one is so colourful. Wish I was better at crocheting!
ReplyDeleteNice job on your granny ripple - especially color choice! I am so loving the bright colors right now...
ReplyDeletethey are both gorgeous and it certainly doesn't look like you just know the basics, I tried so many times a few years ago to learn and dive into a graany square but I just couldn't get it!!
ReplyDeleteWow - your grannie ripple is gorgeous - the colours are amazing. Love it Clare - it's fabulous :)
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about the ease of doing a ripple. I am just past halfway through one, and it is the project I always reach for if watching anything subtitled on telly, as you hardly have to look at it!
