I hear you saying that pretty , sparkly butterfly
is a treasure indeed but sorry
that's not my treasure this week.
It's The Lump that's holding the butterfly that is my treasure .
My daughter made this for me her first term of highschool
and didn't she have fun with it !
Apparently there was so much laughter
in the class at my girl saying her mum would
love her work no matter
how ugly it was .
It was refered to during the classes when
they were being made as The Lump .
Now when my daughter is looking for
hairties or pins she is told to look in The Lump .
It is just a silly family joke
but I really do love The Lump !
Yes whatever our children make it will always be beautiful. Off to work now will catch up with everyone's treasures at lunchtime. Charmaine
ReplyDeleteI have a collection of little pots and figures made by the boys when they were little, but nothing that compares with the lump. A very funny story.
ReplyDeleteBut it is a very pretty lump and the perfect size for storing bits and bobs. No wonder it is a treasure.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to receiving and treasuring some 'lumps' from my kids when they start school.
ReplyDeleteLove your lump, Clare!!! I made some lumps as a kid. Mum still had some. Brought them home with me a couple years ago. They are Christmas ornaments actually. Maybe I'll put them on Tuesday's Treasure for you.
ReplyDeleteHi Clare,
ReplyDeleteYour 'LUMP' is perfect - thanks again for some Tuesday fun.

Hey Clare, your lump is beautiful. We have some lumps too, some small and some huge, and they're all special. toni xxx
ReplyDeleteOh I love the Lump! Such a gorgeous story, you made me really smile.
ReplyDeleteMy mum has also lovingly kept many of her children's creations - some of them very ugly.
And I am too, keeping my children's creations.
Isn't it wonderful how we treasure our children's artwork from their childhood. I think this "lump" is a treasure. Happy week ahead...
ReplyDeletethat's so sweet clare!
ReplyDeletemy mum keeps a jar i made, in year 7 too, on the bench at home. it has all the pans in it ha ha.
The Lump is attached to a good memory of fun and laughter - how lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the lump. The things our kids made will always be treasures. Ugly or pretty, lumpy or flat, who cares. (I wanted to say it goes well with the crocheting but I take that back ^:^) The blanket turned out lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love The Lump - what precious treasure!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm playing too Clare.
ReplyDeleteLove your precious 'Lump'.
Isn't it amazing what we keep and love because our children made it for us? I have many treasures along the same line! Yours is sweet!!
ReplyDeleteEverything our kids make is precious and a treasure... even if it is 'lumpish'.

Hi Clare, I know you love the lump because your DD made it for you. I feel the same way about a santa that my DD made for me in kindergarten class, a long time ago. body made from a cone used on knitting machines. I put it out on the mantlepiece every year. It is very special to me. :-)
ReplyDeletei love 'family' jokes, we have heaps of them and i am sure people think we are quite crazy when we speak to each other.
