I love this soft chenille and thought I'd crochet
it in granny squares for a lovely soft blanket .
It was very cheap wool and dreadful
to work with and it kept breaking .
Admitedly I am not an expert crocheter
but the squares all ended up looking like
they had breasts .
So I took them apart and started on a scarf .
By now I'd gotten the hang of the cheap wool
and my scarf grew .
And then I liked that it was a bit bigger and
soft on my lap so I kept going .
Finally this is what I ended up with
and my daughter has claimed it .
She also said how nice her room looked
in the photo .
Don't worry I set her straight and let
her know all about cropping photos .
Dont you just love it when the right projects works its way out!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful bay the way~

ReplyDeleteLOL - oh how funny, your squares had breasts! Thanks for the good laugh. Well, it may have been cheap wool but it sure turned out lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt grew? I think 'exploded' might be a better term...LOL!
ReplyDeleteLol, 'grew'?? Went forth and multiplied...must be all the rain we're having. he The blanket looks great and the photo cropping tool is probably the most used on my computer!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what a lot of work has gone into that oh so pretty throw.
ReplyDeleteok that is one massive scarf! but i bet it' lovely and soft to be under. your daughter's bedroom looks much better than mine - no amount of cropping would make her room look good!! lol

Atleast October is the month for pink and breast cancer awareness.
ReplyDeleteIs your rug covering the whole bed? ... it's lovely!
And I love coconut ice. :o)
Love it when things finally work out in the end and usually, for the better. Lovely in pink!
ReplyDeleteCrikey!! How fast can you crochet? Lovely colour wool and cheap wool can be a challenge but sometimes I can not justify expensive wool unless I am very sure about what I am doing. I also have a basket like that but mine is a wooden colour, so snap!

I love how yarn sometimes whispers to you while you are working on it and steers you in a different direction. It's when we refuse to listen to it that we regret the outcome.
ReplyDeleteLOL...from crocheted breasts to a lovely bedspread...you go girl!! Well done!
ReplyDeleteJane.
WOW! How long did that take? And how many skeins? Wow, wow, wow, I love it!!!
