Beautiful Fabric is Art !

I came across these frames that I've had stashed in The Craftroom for quite some time .
Does that one sentence convey to to you the absolute mayhem in The Craftroom if I can just "come across" them and let's not start about the footstool and the rather large cutlery box that really need something done with , anyway .......
I had some beautiful fabric that I couldn't bear to cut (tragic I know) and thought I could frame it and then I could look at it anytime . I cleaned and painted the frames and put the fabric in and just secured it with a few stitches at the back . I replaced the glass to protect the fabric and this way if I do decide I want to sew it I can as it hasn't been stapled or cut . It also means I can change my work of arts anytime I want !
My little dog obviously approves too after a quick sniff , smart dog !

  2. Brilliant!! Love the new look frames too. Brown is so awful looking but that white is amazing and picks up all the detail. Love your choice of fabrics too.

  13. Oh very pretty indeed and I soooo understand the need to look at pretty fabric without cutting it up, it is not tragic at all, just normal I say.

  16. A really fabulous idea! I love the idea of painting old frames white, I had never thought of that. Plus being able to change the fabric, seems much better than stapling them on to a canvas.

  24. What a fun idea! I have lots of fabric I can't bear to cut into -- not enough wall space LOL! Thanks for your visit to my blog -- if only I lived next to you -- I'd be there in a minute and I probably wouldn't have to trudge through snow to do it! ;-)

  28. Gorgeous. Would you believe I have a stash of frames to do exactly that with but have never got around to it. Yours look fabulous and the best thing is if you get tired of one design, or change your decor you can just change the fabric over.
