warm hands

As I told you both recently I have been walking
and the early mornings have been freezing!

So being the clever chick I am I made myself some handwarmers.

These are just 10cm squares of scraps stitched together .
Leave an opening , turn them out and fill with rice .

Pop two in the microwave for a minute before you go out.
They stay warm for about 20 minutes by which time
I 'm nicely warmed up from walking anyway .
I made a few because I might need to throw one at a cow
or leave them in the car so I have some spare.
You can also put these in the freezer for little ice packs too .

Do you walk or excercise?
Do you throw things at cows ?
Have you had a great week ?

  1. what a fantastic idea! i dont walk, as i hate being cold so i do yoga in the comfort of my loungeroom. thinking some of these to pop in the freezer would be fantastic for when the kids are constantly hurting themselves!

  5. Far too nice for throwing at cows unless they throw them back.

Could be very handy for walking to school through the fog and frost!

  8. What a great idea. I didn't realise you could use rice as a warmer.
I haven't thrown anything at a cow. Although I think we could do to purchase one, my son drinks milk by the bucket load.

  9. Hi Clare, I do walk almost everyday with my dogs (depending on whether I am at work or not) but never see any cows! I don't need your hand warmers but I may have to make some for my husband as he walks to catch the bus very early in the morning and feels the cold! Great Idea.

  10. No, I don't throw things at cows, but if I had any cows near me these would be my throw thingies of choice. Love them.

  11. Hi Clare This could be me walking. We have been down to -5 this winter. I put buckwheat in my heatpacks but rice would probably be cheaper. Sharyn
