a tip from an old hooker

Oh come on you know I can't give away those secrets !

You already know I love to crochet and I think
to be quite honest it is because I am so lazy .

I've said before how much I love the soothing repetition as
I can't follow a pattern and can only do very basic work.

Like a lot of you my fingers and wrists used to ache
and made crocheting a chore .

That was until I decided to add pencil grips to all
my hooks and really , truly I can crochet all day !

Yes I have told you about this before but
something so helpful is worth repeating .

P.S. I am still having lots of trouble commenting
on certain blogs if anyone can give me suggestions
how I can fix this I would appreciate it as I have the
best visitors here and I love to return the visit
when I can .
A special hello to Bri from Live.Laugh Love.Create.
no matter how many times I've tried I can't leave
a comment for you , sorry .

P.S.P.S. I still haven't heard from the winners
from my giveaway , see post below.
Were you a winner?

Do you know I play a bit at Facebook ?
I'd love to see you there !

  1. First of all, your caption is soooo funny, I love it.

Then if you go to where you sign in...right under the password it has a block that says keep me signed in....uncheck that...see if that works...

  2. I too was having the problem with commenting. I was going to tell you the same thing as Barb. It worked for me. I love your idea with the pencil grips. I have a few crochet hooks with the thicker handle and they are much easier to use than the old skinny ones. I must give it a go.

  3. Yes I think I like crochet because I am lazy too... after all it is one of the few crafts I can do lounging back so much that I'm almost lying down!!!

  4. Ha! You are sweet :) I have a small confession: i rarely read much of what people write. I am a VERY VISUAL PERSON, but when I saw my name.... I was totally confused. ha! It was in red, and all I could think is, "oh no! someone is mad with me!!! i knew it!" but thank you for saying something sweet. It makes my day. I had troubles with this too. If you email Blogger, they will give you a list of ways to trouble shoot. For me, the main problem is when I don't log out. There's some complication that comes about when you stay logged in. If you log in and back out each time, that helps. If that doesn't you can email me and I will forward you their message of solutions for the commenting problem :) THANKS FOR BEING A SWEETHEART!

  5. Hi,
I agree with Barb, I too was having trouble but if I sign in each time rather than staying signed in, thenI can leave comments. How do you make the flowers in your picture? I can not follow a pattern either!

  6. I can only say ditto to the above. I was having the same problem - logged out and in again without clicking the remember me bit and it all seems OK.

I am sooo envious of crocheters of any form - it's something I just can't do!! Bertie x

  8. love your post about crocheting - My mum had those grips added to her crochet hooks after having a stroke and she could crochet again, which she loved very much.
I had issues with blogger too ;-(
but I couldn't log out in order to sign in with 'remember me' unticked
I have posted about my success http://crafteecc.blogspot.com/2011/09/solved-blogger-troubles-with-comments.html

  9. Love your heading Clare and your tip is fabulous :) I never thought of doing that and will have to try it as the last time I did some crocheting my hand did hurt. I do what Barb said about unticking the box so you arent staying signed in to leave a comment. Hugs Vicki x

  11. Lol, now that was some headline!!! Talk about capturing the reader's attention.
Wonderful tip about the crochet hook. My crochet skills are minimal mostly because I lose interest because of the hook. Thank you.

  12. I also had the same comment problem, I will try the above solution, thanks.

  13. I do the same thing with pencil grips. Sometimes I put a little piece of double sided tape on to keep it in place if it's a narrow hook.

  14. Oh Clare you are too clever, I'll have to try that! I'm about to learn how to knit, it's easier on my hands than crochet....but I'll give this a go too, thank you!

No clue about leaving comments - what's the trouble? Are you signed into blogger first?

  15. Hi Clare, the "untick" solution worked for me...throwing in a few swear words and threating to move to wordpress may or may not have helped too! *in slightly disguised voice* - "my name is Kate and I think I won some books?"...oh well it was worth a try...
