I always feel a bit sad when I cut into
one of my vintage sheets .
But then again if I'm making something for
someone else I feel a bit more confident
that if I stuff it up there is plenty more
beautiful fabric to work with .
There is also the added bonus that if I make
something for someone else and I just adore
it and can't bear to part with it
there is plenty more to make one exactly
the same for me !
Oh and that is SUCH a pretty sheet Clare! I dont have any luck finding them in op shops - each shop I check doesnt have a single one!
ReplyDeletegorgeous fabric, so sweet of you to make a gift for someone out of one of your favorite fabrics....the friend will be so blessed...

Those sheets are gorgeous Clare! I have trouble cutting into mine too. Im pretty sure they are the exact same print i had on my bed as a wee one!
ReplyDeleteThat sheet is just beautiful. xo
ReplyDeleteOh I know that feeling and as I have only ever managed to find a few in my travels I am even more hesitant to cut into them.
ReplyDeleteYour sheet is just gorgeous and I am sure your gift will be well received :)

Love the sheet in you pictures. I am still cogitating what to make with the Rainy Day fabric you sent to me. Lots of ideas but not enough time!
ReplyDeleteYes I can relate to that.. sometimes I wish they'd get threadbare so that the process of chopping them up is easier!
ReplyDeleteLovely! This sadly reminds me of all the beautiful sheets that I have discarded along the way before I discovered sewing and crafts. But then I think perhaps a talented person like yourself snapped them up and breathed new life into them. xxx
ReplyDeleteOh wow, amazing patterns, keep sharing the love with repurposed goodness, love Posie
ReplyDeleteIt's the first chop that is so hard. I keep looking at vintage tablecloths in my collection of fabrics and knowing that it would be so much easier to use a piece if I had already used a piece. pathetic really. Cherrie
ReplyDeleteOh that really is the most gorgeous fabric, do please show us what you make with it.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful fabric, so many possibilities.

I like your thinking!
ReplyDeleteThink of it as sharing the love Clare. Now someone else can enjoy this pretty print too.

I'm sure it will be worth the cutting..I'm curious to see what you do with it...A lovely print..

Oh that is beautiful - I don't cut mine up, I use them for quilt backings!
ReplyDelete. . . and this one is especially delicious!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, can't wait to see what you do with it. I use old sheets to back my quilts with, the fabric is always so soft!
