at my house

At my house I am wondering about lists .

I like lists .
I make shopping lists , I always leave them at home
when I go to the shops but I do make them .
I make lists for the kids when I go to work for
chores that need to be done before I get home ,
they don't get done but I still make the lists .

I knew I had a small gap in my day on Sunday
that I could manage some crafting so
because I wanted to use my time wisely
I made a list .
Looking at my list I wondered when
I had become so scattered that I needed
to allocate time to think about my kid's
Christmas presents and why was it
less a priority than pattern writing but
more important than ironing doilies
for a new project ?
Do I now need a list to remind me I have kids ?

Thank goodness the doilies got ironed ,
that's one thing off my list .

Now back to the pattern writing .

Just throwing this teenage book in because I loved it !
I actually didn't read it , I listened to it on tape .

Maybe I was too busy making lists to read .

Lots more lovely houses to visit at Lou Lous .

I love making lists, if i do something that's not on my list, i'll add it to the list, just to have the satisfaction of crossing it off the list !!!

  5. I also make lists and leave them behind! I am a terrible doodler so usually my lists are unreadable as I've doodle stars and flourishes all over them! But your right the best part of a list is when you can mark it off as DONE!

  7. You know what Clare? I forgot my list today as well! I love a list, it makes me feel more in control of things and less panicky. It never looks as bad written down and it's good for clearing space in your head.

Do you have pretty list papers? I don't and I'm thinking how nice it must be to have pretty pieces of paper in my pocket instead of backs of paper. Good luck with your thinging stuff. I have to say that I never having thinking things on my lists!

  11. I'm a list-maker too Clare! The one on our fridge door is almost as long as the fridge door at the moment *roflol*. I must admit to having a moment when I too wondered when pattern writing gained priority over the kids Xmas presents! toni xxx

  22. Nice post. I also like lists. I find that I work better when I have lists. They have been lacking for a little while now but I am restarting them. I find that it clears my head too. I don't have to try and remember everything because it is on the list. Lou.

  23. I'm a total list-maker too, and sometimes I wonder if it's a bad thing I've become so dependent on them. I can't remember a darn thing on my own! :)

  24. I would make more lists if I had such a pretty pen to write with. I do make lists at Christmas, but I try to avoid them at other times because I never seem to get to the end of them.

  25. Monday at my house involved a list too - and actually I did 95% of it which lets face it for a to do list is pretty darn good!

I've just googled 'The Listmaker.' It looks like the sort of thing I would pick up so I might have to investigate finding a copy to read...

  27. Hi, thanks for commenting on my blog. I too am a listmaker and I used to love Robin Klein, so I'll have to track that book down.

  28. I love lists too. Makes me feel like I'm actually doing something and ticking things off makes me really happy. Good luck with your list.

  29. Making list is a very usual job that we often do, but keeping the prepared list at home and going for shopping is too much. I think the art of list making improve our memory power.

  30. Hi I'm Carmel and I'm a listaholic. This time of year is always the worst, as end of school year and run up to Christmas run alongside each other. Like you don't always manage to get through the very important list, but it does make me feel better complining in the first place.

  31. I resort to lists too. Not necessarily in order though - more like brain storming trying to get it all written down while I remember it. So that means your kids are not necessarily near the bottom. lol.

Just love your doilies. What a treasure to have them!
