I knew I forgot something !

Some of you may have seen my huge crochet blanket before but as it has just gone back on my bed as the nights are becoming a bit cool , I thought I'd show it again .
I made this not so small treasure over many years , in fact since I was a teenager .
It really is not the most beautiful thing but it is very special to me and it is enormous !
It hangs down to the floor of my queen size bed and is so cosy .
I also forgot to wish all the mums a Happy Mothers Day and as my mum says I'd sometimes forget my own head if it wasn't screwed on !
Happy Mothers Day Mum xxxx

  2. it's lovely .... I have a crochet blanket that my mum made for me and I love it ... it's reserved for snuggling on the sofa or when we're poorly and need a bit of extra love

  3. I hope mine turns out as good. It's been started and stopped so often, as something shinier and newer comes along and grabs my attention...I'm hoping for a cold snap to arrive and make me get the wool and hook out again...

  16. That's BEAUTIFUL - I have a small one similar to that, my mom made it lap size for my grandmother and now it's mine. It also has the black around the squares and I LOVE it. You have a real treasure there!
    Happy Mother's Day!

I love crocheted blankets,I think because my very first crochet project was a big granny square blanket for one of my daughters.

  21. I love your crochet blanket. You should be very proud of such an effort. I have had a go at crochet squares but like knitting it never moved fast enough for me.
We inherited a knitted on from MIL.

  22. Hi Clare,
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving your very sweet comments. I don't know how I've missed your blog - it is lovely and I have signed up as a follower. Your "Black Beauty" is beautiful. It has even more color than mine since you do four rounds of color before adding the black. I did two rounds of color and than a white round. How many squares is yours? If I do all of mine it is be 288 squares. And your squares are a little larger than mine. Thanks for showing it I love looking at crocheted throws. I think crocheting and the granny squares are "in" again. Or maybe they never go out of style. Also that was clever of you to tie your apron around the tree in your other post. I got a laugh out of that. Nice to meet you and hope we will continue to be blogging friends.

  23. Those colours are zinging... they really jump off the screen. I'm not normally a fan of granny squares but I love this one.

Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog... I'm so glad to have got my comments page fixed :) I shall be following your blog - it's great x
